ST4.4 ‘Advances in solar-terrestrial activity in the wake of upcoming Maunder Minimum’November 24, 2015, from David Williams (UKSP DC)
Submission are invited for abstracts and applications for financial support to a special session ST4.4 ‘Advances in solar-terrestrial activity in the wake of upcoming Maunder Minimum’, conveners: V.V. Zharkova (Northumbria University, UK), N. Scafetta (University of Naples, Italy), Jan-Erik Solheim (Norway) http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2016/session/20704 to be held at the EGU Assembly, the section ST4 – Space Weather and Space Climate in 17-21 April 2016 http://egu2016.eu/home.html .
In this session we invite presentations of research investigating various aspects of solar and solar-terrestrial activity during the past century, millennium and other scales and their interpretation with dynamo models. Many observations indicate that solar activity is approaching a hybernation stage comparable with Maunder Minimum recorded in the 17th century. All aspects of these changes are now under very close scrutiny, or order to understand the implication of this phase for the Earth and the whole Solar System.
The deadline for support applications (for young scientists) is 1 December 2015 and deadline for abstract submission 13 January 2016 https://administrator.copernicus.org/authentication.php
