STFC INTRODUCTORY COURSE IN SOLAR SYSTEM PHYSICS

Registration is now open for the STFC Introductory course in Solar System Physics to be held at the University of Leeds from 6 – 10 September 2010.

This Summer School is designed to introduce starting researchers into the important physics underlying the dynamics of the solar system. Topics to be introduced include the generation and dynamics of the solar magnetic field, introductions to MHD and plasma physics, helioseismology, waves, the solar wind, the magnetosphere, the ionosphere, solar variability and climate, ground and spaced based observations, the thermosphere and mesosphere, planets and comets.

The course is fully funded for STFC students and may be available to others subject to availability.
