Virtual Annual Meeting of the German Astronomical Society

July 22, 2020, from Natasha Jeffrey

Dear colleagues,

we would like to draw your attention to the Virtual Annual Meeting of the German Astronomical Society 2020, which will be held online between September 21-25, 2020. In particular we would like to highlight the “Solar Physics” splinter session on Wednesday 23rd of September, between 14:00 and 18:00 (German time), with the title: “From bright points to coronal mass ejections: the Sun on its various scales”.

Everyone is invited to participate (you do not need to be an AG member nor work at a German research institute). There is no registration fee and the splinter session will consist of oral contributions.

Please be aware that the deadline for abstract submission is already by the end of this month (31st of July). If too many abstracts are submitted we might shift some talks to a virtual poster session.

The aim of the Splinter meeting is to provide a forum to discuss recent advances in Solar Physics, welcoming participants with a background in observational and theoretical/modelling solar physics, as well as in solar instrumentation and data-analysis techniques. The overall goal is to strengthen the solar community and enable new connections between the participants.

We are looking forward to your abstract submission.

Best regards,
Christoph Kuckein, Ioannis Kontogiannis, Andrea Diercke, H. N. Smitha,
Anjali J. Kaithakkal
