Are you a newly independent researcher? Are you exploring how best to fulfil funder requirements about public engagement? Are you considering how a strategic approach to engagement might enhance your research? Keen to learn how to develop an effective strategy which inspires quality engagement practice which makes a difference? If so the Public Engagement Masterclass could really help.

Inspired by the recognition of research funders that newly independent researchers are keen to develop their skills and experience in developing strategic engagement plans, this masterclass looks at the drivers for engaging the public with your research; what quality engagement looks like; why a strategic approach is important when thinking about potential publics for your research; how engagement could impact you and your colleagues, your research, and society; and how you might evidence its value.
The course facilitators have years of experience of engaging the public with research; evaluation and evidencing impact; and developing supportive research cultures which recognise the value of engagement to developing excellent research. The facilitators will be joined by researchers who have developed innovative engagement practice; experts in engaging with community groups and cultural sector organisations; and impact experts. An interactive course, the masterclass will equip you to make sense of the role of public engagement to your research, and how to develop a strategic approach.

A draft programme is now available for this new Public Engagement Masterclass. Researchers from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. There are some bursaries places available.
