Solar Physics Research Fellows (2 positions) at University of St Andrews

Ref (AR1740MR)

We have two postdoctoral research positions available at St Andrews. They will be working in the field of solar or magnetospheric physics and funded by an STFC Consolidated Grant. The projects will mainly be in collaboration with Drs V Archontis, D Mackay and A Wright and Profs I De Moortel, A Hood, T Neukirch and C Parnell.

Applications are sought from all areas of solar and magnetospheric physics, however, preference may be given to applicants with interests in (i) flux emergence and active region evolution, (ii) coronal heating and (iii) coronal magnetic field modelling.

You should have completed or expect to obtain shortly a PhD in either solar physics or magnetospheric physics or a closely related subject. Initially the positions are for a term of 24 months, with the possibility of an extension.

The start date will be 1 April 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter. Informal enquiries to Prof Alan Hood, Tel: 01334 463710 or email: awh@st-andrews.ac.uk.
