STFC Skills Survey

STFC is currently working on its input to the next spending review and a key element of this will relate to the development of skilled people for the research community and for the UK economy.

As part of this process we are trying to identify any particular areas of skills shortage or requirement that STFC, especially with additional funding, might be able to help address.

To help us with this, we are looking for input from the STFC-supported research community. We would like to know of any current or potential skills shortages impacting on your area of research and of any ways in which STFC might be able to help address them (eg through additional studentships, postdocs or fellows; training events such as workshops or summer schools; widening the options on student recruitment; or any other interventions).
There is a short questionnaire at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/STFC_survey_on_skills_shortages and I would be very grateful if you were able to find a few moments to complete it.

The deadline for responses is 5 June. We will use the responses, in aggregated and anonymized form, to inform our planning and priorities, and we plan to publish a summary on our website.

If you have any questions or comments about this survey, do please contact me at the email address below.

Many thanks in anticipation of your help with this exercise.
