Symposia, Special Sessions and Joint Discussions for IAU 2012 including the GA in Beijing

Dear Solar Physicist,

The IAU Newsletter asking for Letters of Intent for Symposia, Special Sessions and Joint Discussions for 2012 (that includes the GA in Beijing) has been issued. Deadline for LoIs is 15 September.

I remind you that having success in these proposals requires a sound scientific case (better if not addressed recently at other IAU events) and that contains a timely topic and some cross-disciplinary character. SS and JDs should be more focused. Remember that in 2011 there will be a Symposium on the recent Solar Minimum in Mendoza, Argentina. It is important that SOC membership reflects all involved disciplines and that maintains the necessary international and gender balance.
