The Department of Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering at Northumbria University is advertising the roles below with a deadline of the 26th July 2020. The Department has a large and successful Solar Physics group (https://www.northumbria.ac.uk/about-us/academic-departments/mathematics-physics-and-electrical-engineering/research/solar-physics/) that is currently expanding into research on the solar wind, magnetosphere, and solar-terrestrial system. The Department is also starting up a satellite hardware lab with investment into facilities, so candidates with an interest in satellite hardware, spacecraft design and systems engineering, mechanical design, scientific instrumentation, communication systems or electronics are also encouraged to apply. The roles are open to outstanding candidates in any field of physics or electrical engineering, and strong candidates in all areas will be considered.
