This post requires a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant to undertake software development tasks for the Space Weather Empirical Ensemble Package (SWEEP) project, funded by STFC through the Space Weather Instrumentation, Measurement, Modelling and Risk (SWIMMR) scheme.

SWIMMR is a £20 million, four-year programme that will improve the UK’s capabilities for space weather monitoring and prediction. SWEEP is a project under the S4: Forecasting from the Sun to L1 category of SWIMMR. Aberystwyth Univeristy leads this collaborative project between Reading, Durham and Northumberia Universities. The purpose of SWEEP is to develop a new software package for the Met Office’s space weather forecasting capabilities. The main day-to-day role of this post is to organise a set of existing bespoke research codes written in Interactive Data Language to a coherent and user-friendly software package in Python.
