The Solar and Magnetospheric Theory Group has an opening for a Research Assistant to work on the project “Equilibrium and Dynamics of Collisionless Current Sheets”. The project is led by Dr T Neukirch and funded by the Leverhulme Trust. You will use mainly established analytical and numerical methods. Experience with running and analysing large-scale numerical simulations on parallel computers is highly desirable. You should have recently completed or expect to obtain shortly a PhD in theoretical plasma physics or a closely related subject.

This post is fixed term for a period of 3 years and is available from 1 March 2010, or as soon as possible thereafter.
