UK SKA Science Committee – (on-line) Town Hall meeting 19th November

The UKSKA Science Committee is pleased to announce the next UK SKA Town Hall meeting “SKAO: From Construction to Science” will be held on November 19th 2021 via Zoom.

The meeting will aim to bring the UK astronomical community together and will provide a platform for staff of the SKAObservatory and members of the UK community to provide updates on the current status of the SKA project, followed by a brief Q&A session.  It will also provide an opportunity for the community to gain a better understanding of the different phases of construction that need to be undertaken and the challenges that need to be overcome.

The confirmed speakers so far are:

  • Rosie Bolton – SKA Regional Centres
  • Phil Diamond – Overview of the SKAO
  • Robert Laing – Low and Mid Facility Overview and Roadmap
  • Joe McMullin – Construction Status
  • Carole Mundell – Overview of SEAC
  • Jeremy Yates- UK SRC Strategy
  • Nick Rees – Computing

Registration will be open from Tuesday 19th October and will close at 10:00am on 18th November. There is no registration fee.
