Short term Postdoctoral Research Associate in Solar Physics at Manchester

A short term Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Solar Physics (6 months, with likelihood of a short extension) is available from 1st October. The post is funded by a consolidated grant from STFC to the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester. The overall research project addresses fundamental questions concerning the relationship between flares and waves/oscillations in the flaring solar corona. The successful candidate should have a PhD in solar physics or plasma physics or a related subject, and have experience of magnetohydrodynamics and carrying out numerical simulations.

This short project will involve developing one aspect of our recent work on modelling magnetic reconnection, oscillations and data-driven modelling of solar flares.
