Stockholm University has opened an assistant professor position in astronomy, which includes solar physics. The application deadline is May 15, 2018.

This is a 4-year tenure track position. An assistant professor may, on application, be promoted to a permanent position as associate professor. Preference will be given to applicants between two and seven years after their PhD, but candidates with a PhD more than seven years can still apply.

The astronomy department of Stockholm University hosts the Institute for Solar Physics (ISP), which performs solar physics research and operates the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope on La Palma. The ISP has four permanent scientific staff members, three research engineers/support astronomers and around 10 postdocs and PhD students.
