We congratulate Valery  for being awarded the prestigious Institute of Physics Payne-Gaposchkin medal, for excellent achievements in plasma physics. This was awarded to Valery in recognition of his leadership and major contributions to the discovery of MHD wave activity in the corona, and his role in the creation of the field of coronal seismology.
