ESWW2023 Open Calls for Sessions and Future-Meeting Hosting.

Dear Colleagues.

Each year, during the European Space Weather Week (ESWW) conference, people from all over the world gather to discuss the newest insights and state-of-the-art in space weather and space climate; endeavouring to address the challenges and impacts of space weather. Science, data exploitation, observations, service development, operational models, engineering, instrument and platform developments, data pipelines, industrial challenges, etc…, are all relevant and some of the most important aspects of space weather.

The overarching theme for ESWW2023 in Toulouse (20-24 November 2023) is ‘Bringing Space Weather, Space Climate and Engineering Together’, with a number of session topics reflecting this theme. The conference will be held once again in hybrid format and the conference website is available here: https://esww2023.org/ – please keep check for periodic updates.

The online submission opened on the 10th of February 2023 and the deadline for submission is 12th of April 2023. The submission system is accessible from: https://esww2023.org/submission-form – please don’t leave it until the deadline to submit!

There are several sessions to submit to, so please check the website above to details and requirements (due to the limits in the length of the announcement for AGU SPA Newsletters).

The ESWW PC is also opening the call for preliminary declarations of interest by teams planning to submit a proposal to form the LOCs of the ESWW for one or more years in the period from 2025 to 2029 (inclusive). It is important that a declaration of interest is submitted in order to have a good chance to be chosen. More information is available here:
https://esww2023.org/submit-your-interest-for-future-esww-local-organisation, and future steps beyond this declaration stage will be completed in due course as we prepare for this year’s meeting.

The deadline for this initial declaration of interest in forming the LOC for a future ESWW is 31st March 2023.

Kind regards, and best wishes,
Mario M. Bisi (PC Chair) and Alexis Rouillard (LOC Chair),
on behalf of the ESWW2023 PC.
