Dear colleagues,
abstract submission is now open for the RAS special discussion meeting “Solar Flares: New Insight from the Lower Atmosphere”, to be held at RAS in London on the Friday, 13th of May 2016. The meeting will focus on the flare-related chromospheric and photospheric effects, such as the helioseismic response in flares (sunquakes), photospheric magnetic fields (structure, variation, transients) in flaring active regions, small-scale structure and dynamics of the chromosphere during solar flares, etc. We aim to discuss both observational and theoretical aspects of these phenomena. There will be several invited talks and a series of contributed (10-15 minute) talks, as well as some space for posters.
If you would like to present a talk or a poster, please send a brief abstract to mykola.gordovskyy@manchester.ac.uk . The deadline for abstract submission is 15 April 2016.
